When publishing your custom branded Abenity iOS app, there are two options for us to make this available to your members. Your app can either be published to Apple’s B2B App Store, or the public App Store.
Note: Having a custom branded version of the Abenity app created for your organization is only available as a part of our $2500/mo Enterprise Plus and Customer Rewards Premium Plans.
Publishing to Apple’s B2B App Store
Apple has determined that their B2B download process is most appropriate for publishing our branded customer apps.
This B2B publishing process is fully under our management, so you won't need to create an Apple developer account. You will, however, need to register for Apple’s Volume Purchase Program. This will let Apple independently verify your organization, and you will then be able to approve our Apple developer account to publish apps to the B2B App Store for you.
Once the app is published, we’ll create a download page on our website, which is where members in your organization’s program will be directed to access the app. You can view this member experience at http://kohls.abenity.com/perks/ios-app. You'll notice that you do not need to be signed in to download the app as a user. The “Need Help?” link on that page provides a step-by-step guide of the experience as well.
Once the app is downloaded, the experience for the user is the same as it would be from the public App Store. If you have a custom registration code field programmed into the app to validate user accessibility, then the app's registration page will still require that information to be validated prior to the user being able to access your perks.
Publishing to the Public App Store
The public App Store is the app download experience you’re likely most familiar with if you’ve used an iOS device before.
If you need the app to be discoverable in the public App Store, then your custom branded Abenity app will need to be published from your Apple Developer account. An Abenity developer will need to be set up as an approved user on your Apple developer account in order to publish the app for you.
